This is a defining moment. Our nation is at war. Our planet is in peril. Our American Dream is slipping away. Because of these challenges, Americans are listening to what we say in this election. This is our chance to forge a new majority of Democrats, Independents and Republicans committed to our common purpose as Americans. America has been at its best when weve led not by polls, but by principle; not by calculation, but by conviction; when weve had leaders who summoned the entire nation to a common purpose. Thats why Im running for President. Im running to tell special interests that their days of setting the agenda are over. I will close corporate loopholes and give a tax cut to middle-class Americans. I will take on the insurance industry, forge bi-partisan solutions, and pass universal health care. I will end our addiction to oil, and make world-class education affordable from birth through college. Im running because Im tired of Democrats talking, acting, and voting like George Bush Republicans on national security. I will end the war in Iraq, reject torture, finish the fight against al Qaeda, and reinvigorate American diplomacy. Lets stop settling. I have spent my life bringing people together, solving tough problems and making a difference in peoples lives. I dont want to refight the battles of the 1990s, or pit Blue America against Red America I want to lead the United States of America. At this moment, lets reach for what we know is possible. |
I believe our nations best days are ahead and remain committed to an America with a strong national defense, a smaller, more accountable government, and a robust economy. As president, I will protect our nation from all enemies. We confront a titanic struggle against Islamic extremism that will not be won quickly or easily. But we will win it. I look forward to bringing our troops home but know that we must bring them home in victory and with honor. Our enemies are in this fight to win. Be assured that I will employ all instruments of national power to defeat them. At home, Americans have lost trust in their government. To restore their trust, I will secure our borders, veto pork-barrel bills, keep taxes low and reform our tax code. I will nominate judges who do not legislate from the bench. I will work to modernize Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, bring choice and competition to our schools, and address climate change. We must also fix our health care system, not through more government, but by empowering the market to offer affordable and portable insurance options while we help those without insurance access quality care. I am running for president to make sure America maintains its place as the political, military and economic leader of the world. I am running for President of the United States, a blessed country, a proud country, a hopeful country and the greatest force for good on earth. |
Chuck Baldwin is a citizen of the United States of America just like you and me. The difference is that he is not an elected politician offering the same old political answers. Chuck Baldwin has talked the talk and walked the walk. He doesnt have a history of flip-flops and he does not test the wind every time he takes a position. Refreshing isnt it? Have you ever thought what you would do if you were elected President of the United States? Chuck has done just that and he is providing the right answers to the important questions. |

From 2003 to 2008, he occupied the 21st Century Liberties Chair for Freedom and Privacy at the American Conservative Union. Since 1997 he has served as a Board Member of the National Rifle Association. For more than four decades, Ralph Nader has saved lives, opened minds, implemented solutions, and inspired citizens everywhere to participate in building a better, more democratic world. He has founded or organized more than 100 civic organizations, authored countless books and publications, and perhaps more than any other person has defined our modern understanding of the American ideals of democracy, civic duty, and participation for the public good, rather than dominance by the corporate powers. Known for his ethics, integrity and independence, Ralph Nader is recognized world-wide for putting democracy to work.
What is less well known is that in his 2000 bid for President of the United States, Ralph Nader earned the votes of citizens across the political spectrum. Under the banner, 'Not for Sale', millions responded to Nader's message to the American people calling for greater accountability for corporations and an end to corporate-controlled government. According to the exit polls conducted by Democratic pollster Stanley Greenberg, fully 25% of his votes came from Republicans, 38% from Democrats, and the remainder from people who would not have voted. No other American leader can be credited with such broad appeal across the divides of our polarized nation. No other American leader can claim such unfettered independence from the ethically bankrupt quagmire of insider politics where the lives of ordinary Americans are regularly sacrificed to commercial interests.
To his credit, Ralph Nader does more than just talk. As the New York Times said, "What sets Nader apart is that he has moved beyond social criticism to effective political action." Part of his mammoth legacy is the effective national network of citizen reform groups that labor to preserve the safety and quality of life of EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN. His groups have made an imprint on many areas including civic skills, tax reform, pensions, aviation, regulation of atomic power, renewable energy, clean [Response was truncated to maximum response length of 2000 characters.] |
